A brief overview

During the First World War, hidden in a seam of a red evening dress, the French secret service found a coded military message.

The dress was found in a suitcase which belonged to the legendary Dutch dancer Mata Hari. Because of this evidence, the young woman was sentenced to death.

Anna, Mata Hari’s best friend and confidant, knew that the dress did not belong to the dancer, but to her. She received the garment from Vladimir Maslov, the second cousin of the Russian Emporer, with whom, just like Mata Hari, she had a passionate affair.

Remorseful and in a moving monologue, she tried to convince the authorities of Mata Hari’s innocence.

She was the one who gave the garment to her friend, not knowing that maybe she too, was used by Vladimir Maslov as messenger.
